Why the play on Trivial Pursuit?

Invented in 1979 by journalists Scott Abbott and Chris Haney, who, inspired by Scrabble, created an engaging trivia focused alternative.

They overcame the sceptics with word-of-mouth success and by 1983, sold over 1 million!

Today, there’s 100+ versions and 100m+ sold! 🤯

So it’s ‘Meaningful’ for many.

#22 of 50 moments:"The Non Trivial Pursuit of Mindfulness”

Why Mindfulness as Non-Trivial?

3 reasons:

1)  It’s often trivialised!

As ‘a bit of mindfulness’ or ‘relaxation’. When sustainable practice involves far more.

For starters - open, curious and non-judgemental awareness of NOW (and whatever it contains) requires intention, focus and patience. Courage too.

2) It’s not just about You

Yes we look inwardly and respond in healthier ways to our emotional weather. But much of this involves how we relate to others - with empathy, tolerance and compassion.

3) It’s involves the most vital time of your life

Now. And this now. Where all experience takes place.

So, for #22 of 50 Moments, I combined 1 game, meaningful for millions, with 1 practice enjoyed by many billions.
