The Carousel of Stress

There’s no end to stress in our lives. In our workplaces. In our relationships. It causes physical, mental or emotional ill health and can lead to chronic stress and burnout.

This is a fact.

But “Stress” isn’t the problem. Why?

Because Stress is natural. It’s our bodies way of responding to demanding activities, pressure or difficulties we encounter in every day life.

It keeps us safe in moments of danger or threat. And it gives us clear signals when we may need to change ‘how’ we live our lives. So we can remain:

- healthier and happier
- more connected with others
- enjoying a sense of overall wellbeing.

But our busy, digitally overloaded modern lives, our habits and behaviours and environments can make it feel an endless Carousel of Stress.

Like there’s no way to get off it! 🎠

But there are ways we can manage our stress - whether self-caring habits like exercise, our hobbies and social support OR stress interventions like Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction [MBSR] or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy [CBT].
